Francis Jeffers

Jeffers had been on the scene for nearly four years when Arsene Wenger parted with £8 million to sign the 20-year-old striker in 2001. Billed as ‘the next Michael Owen’, Jeffers never settled in north London and managed just 22 league appearances and 4 goals in four years with the club! Depressingly, he didn’t pick a single winners medal despite Arsenal claiming two league titles and an FA Cup during his time at Highbury. He was loaned back to Everton in 2004 and eventually allowed to join Charlton on the cheap.
