Jeffers had been on the scene for nearly four years when Arsene Wenger parted with £8 million to sign the 20-year-old striker in 2001. Billed as ‘the next Michael Owen’, Jeffers never settled in north London and managed just 22 league appearances and 4 goals in four years with the club! Depressingly, he didn’t pick a single winners medal despite Arsenal claiming two league titles and an FA Cup during his time at Highbury.
