Arsenal vs Southampton - Player Ratings

David Ospina – 6.5

Couldn’t really do anything about the first two goals and made a good save early on and from a Tadic free kick in the second half.

Hector Bellerin (off 86)– 7

Good going forward, didn’t look assured at the back but didn’t do much wrong at the same time.

Calum Chambers – 6

Chambers was not at his best, but was accompanied by two other teenagers in the defence.

Isaac Hayden – 7

Positionally Hayden was not brilliant, but he was confident and composed, some good tackles.

Francis Coquelin – 6.5

Coquelin looked good at full back, tended to drift central a bit, but looks an option at full back.

Abou Diaby (off 67)– 7.5

Diaby was great. Strong on the ball and some excellent passes, let’s hope he stays fit.

Jack Wilshere – 7

Should have pressed Clyne closer for his goal but was good in possession and driving forward.

Tomas Rosicky – 4

Was keen to impress but conceded the penalty needlessly. Passing off too, not a nice performance.

Joel Campbell (off 71) – 6

Added a little but not a lot. His passing isn’t Arsenal standard but he did look dangerous at times.

Lukas Podolski  – 4

Good chance to score in the first half squandered. Pretty anonymous once again. Can’t complain if he is not given another chance.

Alexis Sanchez  – 8

Alexis opened the scoring with a brilliant free kick, Tadic levelled from the spot and Clyne scored a screamer to put Southampton ahead before the break. Arsenal failed to score in a timid second half performance.
