The 29-year-old Spain international was voted Arsenal Player of the Season for the 2012/2013 campaign, and with 49 appearances, featured more than any other Gunners player. He has continued his fine form this year. His new contract has seen him receive an extra £10K. He is now on £80,000 per week.
