According to ITV Football, Newcastle and France full-back Mathieu Debuchy is set to complete his £10million move to Arsenal later today. The move has been mooted for a while and it looks like it will now go through.
Debuchy will join the Gunners as a replacement for international teammate Bacary Sagna, who joined Manchester City on a free transfer. The fact that Debuchy was first choice right-back for France at the World Cup ahead of Sagna illustrates the quality that he possesses.
Newcastle themselves have lined-up a replacement for Debuchy in the shape of Holland full-back Daryl Janmaat.
The World Cup star is expected to join the Magpies today, which would in turn mean that the north east side would be happy to part with their player.
Debuchy is an experience Premier League performer and should not take much time to settle in at the Emirates. He has played for the Magpies for the last season and a half, proving to be a big hit on Tyneside.
