Brain played for Arsenal back in the 20′s and it was rather surprising that a top side like Arsenal signed him as beforehand he had failed a trial at Cardiff City and started playing regular football at a non-league side. Scoring a monstrous 139 goals for Arsenal sure proved the welsh side that they should have taken the risk in him. He was with Arsenal for 8 years playing over 230 games and after leaving the London side he didn’t play nowhere near to the standard he used to for the rest of his career. Brain went onto manage a little Norfolk side Kings Lynn Town in the late 30′s.
