4. Cliff Bastin


Cliff Bastin played around the same time as Ted Drake creating arguably the best Arsenal striking partnership with contenders such as Henry & Bergkamp. Bastin had the edge off Drake and Cliff played for Arsenal a massive 18 years. He retired with the Londoners at the age of 35 and had scored 178 goals for them. Some people may think that scoring 178 goals in 18 years shouldn’t be classed this high on the list however he never played during the war and was hampered by knee injuries for the two years after the war he played for Arsenal. He made 28 caps with England scoring 12 goals.
