.
All eyes were on this game as the master stroke of a signing by Arsenal stepped foot on the Premier League. As the game started everything looked pretty easy for The Gunners as they gained control over the Stadium of Light with their dynamic play. Following are the player ratings of the game tonight.
GK: Szczesny: Arsenal GK had very less to do during the first half. One brilliant save denied Sunderland’s Altidore a crucial goal. It was a deflected shot hence a fantastic save by Sczcesny. 6.5/10
RB: Jenkinson: The whole Arsenal defense had a great game in the first half. Carl Jenkinson looked solid on the right hand side with helping himself by making useful runs on the by line and delivering a fantastic assist to Ramsey for the second goal. 6.5/10
CB: Sagna: Captain Bacman had a solid outing on the field. Looked composed utilizing all his experience and linked up well with his fellow Frenchman. Although got out muscled by Altidore but was lucky enough as the referee didn’t play an advantage. 7/10
CB: Koscielny: Sagna complemented him pretty well throughout the game covering him most of the times. His rash challenge in the box was the reason for the Sunderland goal from the spot kick. 6/10
LB: Gibbs No wonder the English man is underrated. Had a fantastic game, defensively looked solid. Also, added quite a bit to the attack with overlapping runs and useful crosses. 7/10
CDM: Flamini had an excellent first half but  looked out of sorts in the second half as Sunderland started to play better. 5.5/10

CM: Ramsey The Welshman has been amazing in his last few games scoring a plethora of goals. He chipped in with two fantastic finishes including a wonderfully executed volley. 8/10
CM: Wilshere His linkup play with the new signing was wonderful, bossing the midfield in the first half, providing some easy chances to Walcott. 7.5/10
LW: Ozil: All eyes were on Mesut Ozil. He sliced through the spaces wonderfully in between the opposition defense. Assisted Giroud with a wonderfull cross for his first goal. With 93% of pass completion rate and a bulk of killer passes, Ozil should be the man of the match. 9/10
RW: Walcott: Had a poor game with missing three clear chances in the first half. Not one of his best games. 4/10
ST: Giroud. With 4 in 4, the Frenchman is making a mark in the Premier League to all his doubters. Assisted Ramsey with a goal and opening the account with a calm finish. 7/10
SUBS:
Monreal for Theo: Probably Arsene Wenger wanted to secure the 2 goal cushion he had. He didn’t have to do much. 5/10
Vermaelen for Ozil: had 14 minutes to play after he came on. Looked solid and defended the lead well for which he was sent for. 6.5/10
